Earthquake Felt in Wheaton and Carol Stream, IL
by John on Feb.10, 2010, under Life
I was awakened this morning by rattling windows, a shaking bed, and rumbling sound. I rolled over in bed and ask my wife; “What is that?” Disoriented I thought the washing machine was out of balance…slamming terribly out of control, but then the windows started rattling; it was then that I realized we were experiencing an earthquake. Later in the morning I found out that the epicenter was located near Sycamore, Illinois – approximately 30 miles from my house. Although only a 3.8 magnitude quake I was amazed at the power it yielded; I can only imagine the terror people in Haiti felt at their 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
U2 in Chicago

- Jammin with U2 Soldier Field Chicago
Several years ago I told my son that if U2 ever comes to Chicago that we would be going to see them – it’s always been a dream of ours. Well that dream came true last night as we watched and listened to U2 jam through the night. It was a great show…a memory maker, hanging with U2 fans and family. We sang along, danced and were inspired by U2’s passion for the well being of the world – the disadvantaged in Africa particularly. I think Bono has set the bar high for Rock Stardom – leveraging his influence to help humanity…hats off to you brother!Get on Your Boots
