Why this Blog?

by on May.17, 2009, under Life

I hope to have some fun with this blog. I’ve blogged a bit in the past but never really stuck with it. I wasn’t consistent because I often felt like I needed to write something profound or significant…nothing wrong with that but not the right approach to sustain a life of blogging. I started this personal blog to give me a platform to discuss a myriad of different subjects. I don’t want to limit myself to a niche rather I’m choosing to talk about life and living just as it happens when it happens. The only twist is that I hope to weave some theology into the process. Thanks for visiting!

    Hey Brian,

Wow! I’m impressed with two things: First, for the initiative that you took to find my Blog! Thank You! I will take your advice and put a couple of my stories on this blog – absolutely! Why didn’t I think about that? Second, I’m really impressed with your philosophical – may I even say theological musings?! I hope that you will continue to contribute to this blog and give all of my readers some of your positive energy. Today is Monday – soooo Happy Monday! JP

Hey John! I found your site so I can stay in touch with your stories. You’ve got some good ones you should put in the little corners of the page here and there! I know I speak on behalf of all the guys when I say that we have found a good friend in you and we sure hope that you stay on with us.
Life is full of unpredictable twists and turns that we run into daily. Hardship has different meanings for all of us, but like Willem DeVaughn said we should be thankful for what we’ve got. Though we may not have the gadgets we want, or we may not be able to live in the place we wished for, there is always a story that will make you realize that you really haven’t got it all that bad.
We’re all on this planet in the forms we are in for a limited time. We may not be here to find answers or make some profound mark on the universe. Perhaps if there were some intention for the creation of the human soul, it would be to make the best of what’s around us and to perpetuate harmony. Harmony is a word that notates balance. Two musical notes at a specific wavelength interval will create harmony – asonance and dissonance. Light and dark. Human nature tells us that we have tendancies to be selfish, aggressive, deceptive, and ashamed. So in this respect what we should look for is to balance out our shortcomings with generosity, passiveness, honesty, and pride.
Why not celebrate each day as if it were a holiday? Hey guys, today is June the 18th! It’s Thursday, happy Thursday everybody!!! I’m crazy, I know. Sometimes it takes a little insanity to keep a smile on our faces. But no matter where I go, I could make a list of a hundred places I’d rather not be. So when tomorrow morning rolls along, let’s be thankful to be where we are at that moment. Who else would you rather be than the person you brush your teeth with every day?
